Complete with a bespoke master bedroom, panoramic windows, and an ensuite bathroom – Qatar Airways shows off its new plane that only select billionaires will step into.


Qatar Airways’ private jet subsidiary Qatar Executive becomes the first to add the Gulfstream G700 to its fleet. This becomes a hat trick for the airlines after being the world’s first commercial service operator of the Gulfstream G500 and being the largest operator of the Gulfstream G650ER.


Ten of these Gulfstream G700 business jets, claimed to be the largest in the world, have been ordered, the first of which will be delivered by 2022. The G700 will join the current fleet size of 19 aircrafts, while Qatar Executive has 28 more planes on order that will be delivered over the next few years.

Since the COVID 19 outbreak, this private jet subsidiary has witnessed exponential growth, where the average monthly block hours reserved grew by 76% year-on-year. Booking increased by more than a cent percent too. The new purchase comes in light of this growth, which officials believe is here to stay. The newly-designed aircraft is designed for ultra-long haul flights, and is considered to be the most spacious and fastest in the business jet industry.

Two Rolls-Royce Peal 700 engines power the jet, and an advanced high-speed wing design helping it reach record speeds. A variety of configurations are available depending on the destination of the flight. It can seat 19 passengers and sleep up to nine passengers. A second configuration features five living areas, that can seat up to 18 passengers and sleep up to nine. A third configuration can seat 13 passengers and sleep eight. There is also an option with a grand suite with en suite washroom.

It features a lighting system that can mimic circadian rhythms (helping induce better sleep) and has 20 panoramic windows to watch, well, clouds and country outlines on landing and take off perhaps. It also features the award-winning Symmetry Flight Deck, helping pilots aviate, navigate and communicate better.
