Upcoming limited edition Lamborghini Centenario sold out even before its debut

If you’re currently reaching for your checkbook to purchase the Lamborghini Centenario, stop! The special edition car which is expected to debut at the Geneva Motor Show soon has already been sold out. The car is a follow-up to the rest of Lamborghini’s limited edition hypercars, including the Sesto Elemento, Aventador J, Reventon and Veneno and is built in honor of Ferruccio Lamborghini’s 100th birthday. According to rumors, the hypercar will be powered with a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, similar to what currently runs the Aventador. This powerhouse is capable of producing approximately 700 hp, which according to us, is just enough to reach break-neck speeds.

Only 40 examples of the Lamborghini Centenario have been produced, 20 of which are coupes and the remaining roadsters. Each of these hypercars comes with a hefty price tag of nearly $2.4 million. That, however, hasn’t stopped the car from flying off store shelves even before appearing on them! “On one hand it is for collectors and lovers of the brand, it is also a celebration in this sense, but on the other hand it is also for Maurizio Reggiani and his team to demonstrate what they able to do with technical innovations”, said Stephan Winkelmann in an interview with PistonHeads, speaking about the upcoming Centenario.
