There are superyachts, and then there are vessels that look like they escaped from mythology. Anton Kroshechkin’s White Dragon belongs firmly to the second category, a 492-foot concept so wildly imaginative that it feels less like a pleasure vessel and more like a floating portal to another time. White Dragon, as it is called, first and foremost breaks the mold of what a superyacht is supposed to look like. More than that, it changes the narrative of what is possible. It also shifts the focus more to the exterior than the interior, though by the end, you may be torn about which side of White Dragon is more impressive.

Before stepping inside, the designer deserves applause for delivering an award-winning concept that pays homage to Chinese culture in the most elegant way possible. It may not look typical, but inside, it provides everything a wealthy owner would expect, from a helipad and tender garage to alfresco dining, several lounging areas, a swimming pool, and the works, just without the tired, copy-paste treatment seen on so many fantasy concepts.

The interiors of White Dragon took me straight to the Last Homely House east of the Sea, Elrond’s palace in Rivendell from The Lord of the Rings. At the heart of this fantasy-like world is the main atrium, also called the Dragon’s Eye, which features an indoor infinity pool and wellness center and opens into an observation room. It’s like a sanctuary with the organic indoor infinity pool resembling ‘Yaochi,’ the mythical Jade Pool of Chinese legend, the kind of enchanted place where immortals would gather rather than billionaires simply taking a dip.

Large round windows invite the unmatched beauty outside to merge with the wonders that lie beneath. The owner and guest accommodations are spread across the decks and connected to the main atrium, perhaps with the idea of bringing everyone to the center of the yacht with ease.

What is really interesting is the addition of an amphitheater on the stern terrace. This transforms the space into a performance stage, ideal for hosting a private live DJ set, a classical string quartet, or even an outdoor cinema night. The possibilities are wide open with this 492-footer and its seven decks.

The outdoor areas offer expansive spaces, beach clubs, and drop-down platforms that transform into mini docks for tenders and toys. The lower decks feature a gym, galley, and support spaces, while the foredeck carries the helipad. Inside that humongous dragon head lies an observation lounge, along with a hidden mooring and anchor system.

With so many novel additions, it is no surprise that White Dragon emerged as an award-winning concept. But the highlight, no matter how many times it is repeated, remains the cavernous, multi-level saloon with lush integrated vertical forests. All it needs now is a modern-day emperor to commission it, and the world’s other unconventional yachts would suddenly look a little less untouchable.
