World’s first silver motorcycle worth $164,000 showcased in India

While we may have many drawers swarming with silver jewelry or many cabinets silverware full, this is one silver item that will be hard to fit into any attic or chest. India’s Silver Emporium, an exporter and dealer of silverware, recently launched the world’s first bike handcrafted in silver. So, even as motorcycle mechanics world over gets tech-heavy and loaded with the latest gadgetry, there is a mind out there at work, giving, what you could call drivable jewelry. Unveiled at the India International Jewelry Show (and rightly so), the world’s first handcrafted silver motorcycle was designed by the Silver Emporium chairman, Kantilal Mehta.

Managing Director Rahul Mehta of the company that earlier created silver pots with carvings and candelabras, upon being asked about their latest idea, revealed, “our team at Silver Emporium spends a lot of time in understanding requirements of high net-worth individuals (HNI) that helps us in creating such masterpieces. Our chairman has redefined silver as a lifestyle product in India; we began creating pieces of art.”

The silver-on-wheels wonder took six months to make and will cost about $82,000 – $164,000. “When any interested buyer contacts us, our design team will interact with them at every stage, from design to customization. Prices are on a case-to-case basis depending on design and engine size,” said Mehta. Safe to say, now you can (safely) ride your bling!
