Its official – These are the 30 most expensive countries to live in 2020


We live in a world that’s all kinds of things; it’s infected with viruses, it’s affected by our actions, it’s undoubtedly beautiful and also undeniably expensive. We all have our little spot on this planet but which are the most expensive spots (read: countries) to exist in 2020? Are you living in the top 10 of the most expensive countries in the world or the most affordable one? Thanks to a survey conducted by CEOWORLD and their annual assessment of the world’s most expensive countries, we have many answers; the factors that are taken into consideration are the price of groceries, utility bills, rent, and transportation. The data is then compared to the benchmark of most expensive places- New York, giving the metropolitan an index score of 100. Countries that scored above 100 were considered “more expensive” than NYC while scoring below was considered “cheaper.” Surprisingly, Switzerland won first place as the most expensive nation on the planet with a 122.4 cost-of-living index. Switzerland is followed by nine other locations throughout Europe making it the dominator in the list. Only one North American country, the United States, made it to the list along with five countries that came from Asia, two from the Caribbean, two from Oceania and one from Africa.
