These are the 10 most expensive cities in the world for 2020

Given the travel ban, taking up a job in a country other than your own may not be on your to-do list. However, if you’re considering a shift of base – here’s some information that may come in handy for you. Presenting to you the list of the most expensive cities in the world for the year 2020 according to Mercer’s newly-released Cost of Living Survey.
While the full impact of the pandemic may not be factored in the review, it featured Hong Kong on the top spot, followed by Tokyo and New York on the third and sixth mark respectively. Surprisingly, six out of the ten most expensive cities on the list include Asian names with Singapore at number five and China’s Shanghai and Beijing at seven and 10 respectively. Among the bottom, few were Tunis Windhoek, Namibia, and Tashkent.

Commenting on it, Mercer stated, “Various factors, including currency fluctuations, cost of inflation for goods and services and accommodation prices, contribute to the cost of expatriate packages for employees on international assignments.” While the list contains 209 global destinations in total, below is the snippet for the top ten most expensive cities for the year 2020:
