At the 2015 SIHH in Geneva, Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced yet another beautiful model for women along with the very classy new edition of the Duomètre Sphérotourbillon Moon for men. A part of the ‘Rendez-Vous’ collection, its iconic feminine line, the new Rendez-Vous Moon brings a new spin on the traditional model. The watchmaker has chosen to equip it with moon phases, a traditional watchmaking complication that finds a new form of aesthetic expression in the Rendez-Vous Moon. In fact, majority of the dial is now occupied by the beautiful and mesmerizing moon phase display, and a sky full of stars.
In the new Rendez-Vous Moon timepiece, the moon is made of mother-of-pearl and the white gold and blue color combination of the dial and case blends beautifully making it look amazing. The bezel set with diamonds completes the look of the watch and truly transforms it into a piece of jewelry. There are two versions of this new model, in 36 and 39 mm diameters. They share several characteristics, including the mother-of-pearl moon disc studded with constellations and sprinkled with cabochons representing the stars. Both versions come on a blue satin strap. The smaller sized version features a dial bearing blue numerals and comes with a total of 166 brilliant-cut diamonds. In dial of the 39mm version, the sky of the Rendez-Vous Moon is adorned with this delicate engraving technique performed using a dedicated rose engine that requires a sure hand to create beautifully intersecting motifs. The resulting pattern is coated with a blue lacquer that induces a unique depth effect, drawing the gaze into the nocturnal expanses of the dial framed by a seductive row of diamonds. 208 brilliant-cut diamonds play their part in the exquisite gem-setting of this captivating creation.
