Brand owner, Mr Phillipe Charriol is inspired by ancient European history of the Celtic civilization to create a modern interpretation of their art. In their latest design, Philippe Charriol MD 52; MD52 stands for the functions of the up-to-the-minute wristwatch from jeweller Philippe Charriol. M is for Moon Phases, D for Date and 52 for 52 weeks. The dial shows a complete calendar display with date, day and month along with the moon phases, and with the rarer indication of the week number within the year.
The crown is recessed into the case at the 6 o’clock position. Its exclusivity is further defined with the fact that it is done in a limited edition of 99 pieces with silver dial, 99 pieces with slate grey dial and 23 pieces in 18kt rose gold. The movement is the automatic ETA calibre 2892 modified by Dubois Depraz with the Charriol logo done in plum colour on the rotor. It also features double sapphire crystals. The stainless steel version costs $7,540 (5,900 Euros).
