The largest Rolex showroom in America is all set to open next month in Boston

A Boston expert highly recommends watching the sunset on the Charles River or enjoying a hearty meal at the top of the hub. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to watch a Red Sox game in Fenway or shop at Newbury Street either. Speaking of Newbury Street, Boston’s Long’s Jewelers are all set to open America’s Biggest Rolex showroom in Beantown at 8 Newbury Street, nestled between luxury stores for Bulgari and Chanel. The 4,600 square foot Rolex showroom was slated to open earlier this year, but the ribbon-cutting had to be pushed back because of Covid restrictions. The site itself is as majestic as the brand that occupies it; originally built in the 1920s, this space was formerly housed as a showroom for Rolls Royce cars on its street-level floor and has always enjoyed the company of high caliber neighbors like Bulgari, Chanel, Cartier, Tiffany & Co, Van Cleef & Arpels, Richard Mille, and the ilk. Drawings show Rolex occupying the first two stories, potentially totaling over 13,000 square feet. However, no details have been divulged about how much of the space will be devoted to Rolex retail. The store enjoys the title of being the largest Rolex showroom after beating 3,000 square foot space within the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas run by The Watches of Switzerland Group.

I’d suggest they enjoy this status till it lasts as this short-lived glory will be overrun by a new Rolex showroom run by Wempe on the ground floor of a new Rolex USA headquarters building on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 53rd Street in New York. The whole building has 165,000 square feet of space over 25 floors. They can probably go for the tile- America’s largest Rolex showroom for the shortest time in history and maintain a clear edge over others. The Boston boutique was purchased this past summer by Corso and GLL Real Estate Partners for $42.45 million and will open its huge doors in December.
