Thieves target an Audemars Piguet store in Paris and rob 1 million Euros worth of watches at gunpoint

Thieves in Paris fled with at least 1 million euros worth of luxury watches in tow after staging an armed robbery of an Audemars Piguet watch boutique in the city on Saturday afternoon. French police are on the lookout for the two thieves who were armed with handguns and left the scene in a car which was later found abandoned.

The Audemars Piguet store is located at 46 Rue de Pierre Charonn, close to the fashion capital of the city: Champs Elysées. The store also falls into what is known as “the golden triangle” – an elite neighborhood that falls between Avenue Montaigne, Avenue George V and Rue François 1er. Other luxury stores within this area have also fallen victim to theft including a Harry Winston store that was robbed of 85 million euros in jewelry.

In 2016, reality star Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint in her hotel in Paris which ignited an international discussion about safety in the French capital. The makeup mogul was robbed of over $10 million in jewelry.
