You may know yarmulkes as hats usually worn by Jewish men, but you’ve probably never seen one like this before! Created by celebrity Artist Toks Daniel in association with VeryFirstTo.com, this yarmulke claims title of being the world’s most precious one, studded with 3,500 sparkling Swarovski crystals and with a 2 carat D color flawless diamond at its center. The launch comes just in time for Chanukah, the Jewish festival of lights, (December 12th – December 20th, 2017).
Toks, who is sometimes known as TDaniel is usually known for creating crystal (and sometimes diamond) embellished items for celebrities. The creation of the yarmulke was inspired by his interest in Judaism. “Whilst I was a youngster in Nigeria, Jews had a rather exotic image. The more I have since been exposed to Jews and Judaism, the more I have become enamored with its rituals, principles, and aesthetics. My Yarmulke design is a manifestation of my enchantment with the religion,” he said.
The yarmulke took 14 days to make and Toks collaborated with jeweler Robert Goodman to implement the diamond which marks the center of a Star of David made up of crystals.
Touted as the world’s most precious yarmulke, this high-profile headgear is on sale on VeryFirstTo.com for $167,000. $1,330 of this amount will benefit the Chabad Lubavitch of Nigeria if the hat is purchased. The organization provides for the spiritual welfare of the Jewish community in Nigeria as well as promoting understanding, respect, and diversity.
