Stella McCartney unveils debut bridal range inspired by Meghan’s halter neck wedding dress

While Stella McCartney has been a well-known designer within the industry, she wasn’t exactly a go-to person for wedding dresses until she created Meghan Markle’s exclusive halter neck attire. After having dressed her highness for the royal wedding, the designer is now set to unveil an all-bridal range, the first of its kind to hit stores from the McCartney house.

Called ‘Made with Love’, the bridal collection features seven wedding dresses, an embroidered lace jumpsuit (available in both white and red) and an ivory tuxedo. Each piece in the ensemble comes emblazoned with a blue “Made with Love” tag that is intended to act as the bride’s “something blue.” Similar to other collections by the brand, McCartney wedding collection stays true to her ethos on sustainable fashion and is crafted using luxurious sustainable viscose, as well as modern versions of traditional couture fabrics including lace and chiffon.

Commenting on the release, McCartney in a WWD interview said, “I think we are really blessed to have the emotional trust with a woman. She’ll come in and feel the love that we put into everything. What she chooses can be conventional or unconventional. It’s a personal experience. We’ve talked forever about doing this collection, but we’ve really had to think about when the right time would be, for us as a house and the resources we have. And this felt like the right time.” The collection is also expected to include men’s wear and accessories in the coming time and is currently available for sale at select Stella McCartney stores.
