We may or may not like the fast-paced life but this hectic 24-hours lifestyle we all have been forced to follow is wrecking havoc on our health and fitness. To take a break from our work-lives and balance the increased stress levels, we go on a holiday only to treat our bodies with more junk food and ill stuff that make things worse. I am a health-buff myself, and I struggle to maintain a healthy diet when I am travelling as most of the hotels rarely offer options for health-minded individuals. But now America has a new hotel that wants to help you make healthy choices. Named Even Hotels, the concept has been created specifically for health-minded travelers and will be opening in two locations on the East Coast this month and plans three more by the end of 2015.
The Even Hotels is the newest brand launched by the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), which operates InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Hotel Indigo and other brands. It is built upon four core concepts: “Eat well, rest easy, keep active, accomplish more,” and promises to offer options to stay healthier and happier away from home. Manned by wellness-savvy staff, Even Hotel will provide best-in-class fitness experience, healthier food choices and natural, relaxing spaces. You won’t find a sit-down restaurant in these hotels either and it will have a grab-and-go food service called Kale & Cork instead, where you can get a power granola breakfast with goji berries, dried fruit and chia seeds for $6.50 and a kale and four cheese flatbread dinner for $11.98. You can sip wine, too, or try an organic cocktail. So in case you are a health freak, you know where to make your bookings next time.
