At 59 kgs this is the the heaviest and biggest gold ring in the world

Visitors at the upcoming MidEast Watch and Jewellery Show at Expo Centre Sharjah can witness the world’s heaviest gold ring on display from 6th – 10th October, 2015. Fashioned and crafted by Taiba Gold & Jewellery of Saudi Arabia, the Najmat Taiba – as it is called – is embedded with 5.17kg of Swarovski stones. While you may wonder how heavy a gold ring could cost, let us tell you at 58.686 kg, this is indeed quite weighty.

Although valued at $3 million, the ornament is not for sale. Fittingly so, it has achieved a certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records and is endorsed by the World Gold Council. Indeed, a smaller version of the gold ring is on sale with a price range of $320 to $410 in three stunning colours – white, rose, gold. Najmat Taiba is nearly 87 inches in circumference and 55 workers clocked in around 45 days to complete.

Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, said: “The ring was created in 2000, and cost nearly $550,000 when gold price was $250 per ounce. Its value has multiplied several times by now, with gold trading near $1,150. I am sure the ring will generate tremendous buzz among visitors to the show.”
