The Donald Trump effect: Who wants to see if a Ferrari F430, valued at $150,000, that the President-elect drove in Manhattan for years can sell for more than $1 million?

Before you question who would pay close to seven times the value of a car just because of its previous owner, let’s look at history. This isn’t the first time that someone’s selling an exotic car that listed US President Donald J Trump as its first owner. Trump’s 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT Roadster sold for a record-setting $1.1 million last year, around three times its market value.

This time around, Trump’s Ferrari is estimated to sell for close to $1 million, putting it nearly seven times over the average market value.

Trump bought this 2007 Ferrari F430 F1 Coupe new, driving it in Manhattan for years before selling it to a private buyer. As the car stands, for sale with Rockstar Car Auction, it’s racked up just over 9,000 miles on the clock. Considering F1-transmission F430 models are not as highly sought after as the manual transmission cars, an average price of $150,000 seems about right.

Ferrari F430 Coupes with a manual could fetch over $200,000 depending on the originality and condition. Now, with Trump set to swear in as the 47th US President, the value of this particular F430 is estimated at close to $1 million. Specced in Rosso Corsa with tan interiors, Trump’s Ferrari is pretty cookie-cutter as far as standing out goes.

However, the car does come with the original title deed signed by Trump and a warranty card in his name. To top it off, the Ferrari also has a customised plaque bearing his initials and the date. These details make it a collectible, given the car’s celebrity ownership history. While we don’t know how much the current owner bought the car from Trump for, it’s safe to say he’s making a profit now.
