This can get a little confusing so stay with us — Porsche released a limited run of 911 50th Anniversary models in 2014, based on the regular Carrera 2S but with the wide body of the Carrera 4, to commemorate the golden jubilee of the 911. At this point, comedian and TV-actor Jerry Seinfeld, perhaps the most recognizable Porsche fan in the world, commissioned a very special one-off straight from the factory.
Out of the 1,963 50th Anniversary 911s made, just one is actually a 911 Turbo S under the skin — and it’s just sold for $435,000, nearly doubling in value since new!
Sold on Bring A Trailer via Cabiglio Garage, that’s big money for what many may consider a “regular” 911. For Porschephiles, this car is significant for other reasons, even sparking online debates when it was first spotted in the wild.
While the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 was celebrated in 2014, it’s only in 2024 that Porsche celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the 911 Turbo with a special edition 992 Turbo. Seinfeld’s 911 Turbo S could be considered the “wrong” tribute for a 911 50 but going by the reception it’s got, that isn’t the case.
Seinfeld’s Turbo S 50 was ordered with approximately $58,000 in extras from the factory, including a special PTS Graphite Grey paint. Seinfeld’s car has just 3,700 miles on the clock and the comedian’s signature on the dash, along with the car’s designer, Tony Hatter — both undoubtedly adding to its value. Seinfeld’s previously sold Porsche 911s have always broken records so it’s no surprise that this celebrity-owned 911 has continued the tradition.
