Jerry Seinfeld has paid an astonishing $1.2 million to buy a one-off Porsche 911 built by the manufacturer’s Sonderwunsch department which customizes cars for exclusive customers.

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld is a known Porsche fanatic. Not only is the one of very few people in the US to own a Porsche 959 but he spent $1 million in 1999 to purchase a New York building to turn it into a garage for his phenomenal collection of rare Porsches. The newest to join his fleet is a special one-off 911 dedicated to the Porsche Club of America. The bespoke Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe was sold for an astonishing $1.2 million at the 75th Anniversary Porsche Auction held at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, Georgia by Broad Arrow Auctions. Seinfeld immediately took it out on a spin when keys to the one-off were handed over to him at a recent private event.

The Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe was built from a 996-generation Porsche 911 by the people working at the German manufacturer’s Sonderwunsch (special request) department. While the car was still in roadworthy condition, it was completely rebuilt at the factory. Inspired by the 997-era 911 Sport Classic, some of the design highlights of the one-off include a ducktail spoiler and a double-bubble roof.

Under the hood is a 3.8-liter engine from an early 911 GT3, which replaces the original’s 3.4-liter flat-six for an 84hp power gain. The 381 horses produced by the GT3 engine go to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. In addition, the one-off features Sport Grey Metallic paint, which combines light gray with blue accents, and Fuchs alloy wheels. The cabin gets houndstooth upholstery along with an Alcantara headliner.
