Sotheby’s to auction Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” by Virgil Abloh. Bidding for the kicks start at just $2,000.

There can never be another Virgil Abloh, which is why everything he touched is valuable beyond measure. If you have been pining for the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 sneaker after they were spotted at Virgil Abloh’s final LV runway show, then youre in for a surprise. The shoes are a prized possession for mashing up icons like Louis Vuitton, Nike, and the irreplaceable Virgil Abloh. Sotheby’s is auctioning 200 pairs of the highly-anticipated Nike X Louis Vuitton “Air Force 1” shoes from January 26 to February 8.

If you don’t want to miss out, be ready with your stash of cash, as this won’t be an easy fight. Bidding starts at $2,000, and 100% of the proceeds will benefit The Virgil Abloh™ “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund. Talking about the shoe, it retains the original shape but is improved by using luxe fabrics, Vuitton’s signature patterns, brown Monogram, and its Damier graphics. The LV Damier graphic is spotted on the tongues, the sidewalls, Swooshes, and the heel overlays. The exclusive colorway is highlighted with “Louis Vuitton Air” branding on the exterior and the size of the shoes on the inside.

Pairs will be available between sizes 5 to 18, and all 200 auctioned pairs will arrive with a Louis Vuitton pilot case made from Monogram Taurillon Leather in a striking orange colorway. As per Sotheby’s website, the shoes and the pilot case will be exhibited at Sotheby’s New York. Visitors are welcome to view the exhibit free of charge and can make an appointment to do so through their reservation page.
