A secretive billionaire, who bought an ultra-rare McLaren F1 supercar for $20 million and drove it just 14 miles in 3 years, is now selling it

One of the finest and most desirable examples of the iconic McLaren F1 is up for grabs and can easily fetch north of $20 million. This particular example is the closest one can get to a brand-new McLaren F1, fresh from the factory in the 1990s. With only 254.8 miles on the odometer, the jaw-dropping supercar is practically unused. However, that’s not all. This 1995 F1 was previously sold at auction during Pebble Beach car week in 2021 for $20,465,000.

Believe it or not, the person who bought the car only drove 14 miles over the last three years. That’s almost $1.5 million per mile, which is absolutely crazy. But it’s not very surprising as many automotive beauties are often bought to be put up as showpieces inside temperature-controlled rooms, which is evident from the supercar’s spotless condition.

What makes this McLaren F1 even more desirable is the fact that it’s the only example out of the 64 road cars the company built to feature the unique shade of Creighton Brown. The cabin features a combination of Light Tan and Brazilian Brown, which compliments the exterior color. With chassis number 029, the F1 was originally delivered in Japan; however, it was later brought to the US. Back in 2021, when it was auctioned through Gooding & Company, the supercar had a pre-sale estimate of $15 million, which was beaten by a big margin.

We won’t be surprised if this uber-exclusive example surpasses its previous sales record with relative ease. However, the car is being sold through Sotheby’s Sealed, which means the final sale price won’t be made public. What a bummer!
