AirBnB has partnered with former Apple designer Jony Ive’s firm for a multi year partnership

The news that Jony Ive will now work with Airbnb for their future products has created a lot of excitement among people who are wondering what kind of magic the former Apple designer will create to revamp Airbnb. Many know next to Steve Jobs, the person most associated with Apple’s revolutionary aesthetic is Jony Ive, the company’s former chief of design who spent almost 25-year tenure as head of Apple product design. He then moved forward to form a new independent design firm called ‘LoveFrom,’ which would regard Apple as a primary client. Before that took fruition, Ive announced a multi-year partnership with Airbnb in which the British designer will help design the next generation of Airbnb products and services. Though Airbnb still hasn’t revealed what’s in store for the world now that a talent like Sir Jony Ive is on board, we can be prepared to be surprised. The Airbnb release does mention that LoveFrom has amassed a creative team, including designers, architects, musicians, writers, engineers, and artists. It’s not entirely clear what Airbnb has planned, but some speculate Sir Jony will help the property rental company revamp its app and website with his design firm LoveFrom.

Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky said, “We share the same belief in the value and importance of creativity and design. We believe that working together will be an important and powerful creative partnership. We’re both excited about the ideas we already have, as well as ideas that are currently beyond our imagination.”
