Mark Zuckerberg seems to be in a great rush to build himself one of the most impressive watch collections in the world. Over just a few months, the billionaire has acquired more than half a dozen highly collectible timepieces. The latest to join Zuckerberg’s collection is Patek Philippe’s Annual Calendar Chronograph 5961R, a diamond-encrusted timepiece that retails for around $166,000.
The Meta CEO can be seen wearing the stunning Patek in a recently uploaded Instagram video in which he sings an acoustic version of Lil Jon’s Get Low. Zuckerberg teamed up with legendary rapper T-Pain for the cover to celebrate his “dating anniversary” with his wife, Priscilla Chan.
Known as the Tiffany-stamped Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Chronograph, the timepiece features a 40mm case crafted from 18-karat rose gold. The gem-set bezel is encrusted with 36 baguette-cut diamonds, totaling 3.48 carats.
The rose gold case is contrasted by an ebony black opaline dial featuring eight baguette diamond hour markers totaling 0.23 carats. The timepiece features a combination of a flyback chronograph and an annual calendar, a complication developed by Patek Philippe as a simpler version of the perpetual calendar.
Housed inside the case is the watchmaker’s caliber CH 28-520 IRM QA 24H self-winding mechanical movement, which can be viewed through the display caseback. The movement runs at a frequency of 28,800 vph and offers a 55-hour power reserve. The watch is paired with a hand-stitched, matte-black alligator strap that features a fold-over clasp set with another 22 baguette diamonds (~0.97 carats). Jay-Z is another celebrity watch collector who owns this ultra-rare, diamond-studded Patek Philippe.
Interestingly, the blingy watch is the third Patek Philippe Zuck has added to his collection over the last few weeks. Recently, he was spotted wearing a newly launched Cubitus Moonphase in Platinum worth $88,000.
