The need for speed never slows down, especially if you’re a racecar driver, and even more so when you’re Max Verstappen, the youngest Formula One World Champion in history. The Dutch-Belgian racing prodigy, born into a family of speedsters, Formula One driver Jos Verstappen and former kart racer Sophie Kumpen, is rapidly elevating his luxury lifestyle.
At 27, the Dutch superstar has once again upgraded his world, this time by acquiring his second private jet, a Dassault Falcon 8X.
Verstappen, already the youngest Formula 1 driver known to own a private jet, previously purchased a Dassault Falcon 900EX in 2020 from Richard Branson at just 23. His latest high-flying acquisition, a $42 million masterpiece, boasts an 11,945-km range, enabling seamless, non-stop international travel, perfect for flights to circuits in Asia or South America.
And like Kim Kardashian, who customizes her jets to reflect her personal style, Verstappen has done the same, outfitting his Falcon 8X in a matte black livery with orange accents, mirroring his personal branding and the colors of his previous jet. Inside, the aircraft features a sleek, bespoke interior tailored to his exact specifications, ensuring a level of luxury befitting a multiple-time world champion.
Dubbed the king of car racing, Verstappen was Formula 1’s highest-paid driver in 2024, raking in $75 million, according to Forbes. And when you’re a king, you live like one. Beyond his Falcon 8X, the F1 ace has also added a brand-new $13 million superyacht to his collection, the 108-foot-long Mangusta Grandsport 33, aptly named “Unleash the Lion.” Designed for ultimate relaxation, it sleeps 12 guests and comes complete with an infinity pool, a sun deck, water toys, and a beach club.
Verstappen’s new Falcon 8X offers more than just indulgence, it’s also a smarter, more fuel-efficient choice. The jet is 30% more fuel-efficient than any other aircraft in its ultra-long-range segment, a factor that might help counter some of the climate backlash that comes with private aviation. In 2023, reports indicated that his private jet logged 215,715 kilometers across 119 flights, generating an estimated 1,693,800 kilograms of CO₂ emissions.
Still, Verstappen’s jet isn’t just for solo flights. He is known to include his fellow Monaco-based F1 rivals for an occasional spin, with Lando Norris being a regular travel companion. With speed in the skies and on the track, Verstappen continues to set the pace, in racing and in luxury.
