Lucio Palmieri dresses up Disney’s vamps in Dolce & Gabbana

We’ve all loved to hate Cinderella’s evil stepsisters and her stepmother as well as Ursula from ‘The Little Mermaid,’ not to mention the infamous Cruella de Vil. As kids and as adults, still! Sparking those fires of fury further and fashionably are the now D&G blessed wicked women. On the 90th anniversary of the Disney Company, the fashion house has revamped some of the most iconic vamps from the cartoons by brandishing them with beautiful garments.

Who knew villainy could be accompanied by such fashion forwardness. While Disney cartoons are no guests to glamour with Lanvin dressing Minnie mouse for Disneyland Paris’ 20th Anniversary celebrations and Harrods unveiling a designer Disney princess dress collection, Lucio Palmieri’s Dolce & Gabbana doused renditions of the characters’ costumes have practically elevated their evil status. Those made over by the Italian illustrator include Sleeping Beauty’s nemesis, Maleficent, Queen Grimhilde (from Snow White), and Cinderella’s evil stepsisters, Anastasia and Drizella as her stepmother, Lady Tremaine, Ursula, and of course Cruella de Vil. While Miss Vil is Haute in hot pink, sheer fabrics and laces are seen in dark hues for most villains. Is it just me, or do these “vicious” ladies suddenly seem like style icons?
