Girls can now live the Cinderella story with replica Japanese glass shoes

Cinderella got her fairytale ending all because of one glass slipper, which can now be a reality for girls to live out thanks to Japanese glass artisans Nakamura Glass Studio! The glassmakers created actual glass shoes for women to wear when they finally meet their Prince Charming. The blown glass shoes took 8 years to perfect, without using mold or cutting tools and are available in standard US sizes 6, 6.5, 7, 8, 8.5 (sizes 22.5, 23, 23.5, 24, 24.5 in centimeters). Custom orders for other sizes apart from the standard can be requested for.

As glamorous as it might sound, the company will be selling just one shoe at a time instead of a pair. With each shoe priced at $697 (86,400 yen), both will probably set you back a good $1300; though we think the idea behind the single shoe would probably be to let your Prince Charming carry you away to safety in his strong arms. Ladies waiting to their hands on these, shoes probably be warned that glass is breakable and wearing these shoes could probably cause serious damages if broken. My advice, also look out for a litter or a sedan chair along with a few maidservants while you’re out buying these delicate babies.
