LL Armcandy of the Week: Louis Vuitton Dauphine Bag

Inspired by the Louis Vuitton archives, the muse for the Dauphine Bag was a model from the 1970’s. Inculcating an aesthetic sense of contemporary design, coupled with the classic Louis Vuitton feel and vibe, the reinvented Dauphine bag is a compact purse, dressed in a two-toned Monogram canvas.

LV bags are almost incomplete for me without its signature metallic LV closure, which of course is an integral element of this model. The hexagonal chain strap and adjustable leather strap allow for the bag to be worn two ways.

A true admirer of the monogram concept, I truly appreciated the play on two versions of the iconic motif: the classic and the reverse. The beauty and comfort associated with this bag is in its reincarnation; from the past to the present.

I have always been a keen admirer of the French luxury house’s ability to revive earlier models with a refreshing touch, and the Dauphine bag is no exception.
