Not the new iPads but Tim Cook’s rare 1-of-1 Nike Air Max ’86 stole the show in Apple’s livestream

Apple CEO Tim Cook stepped out in a special pair of sneakers for the unveiling of the company’s new iPad lineup. It was a very smart and smooth move on the billionaire’s part, as the one-of-a-kind Air Max 1 ’86 was created by Nike for Cook using an iPad Pro with the brand’s first-ever Apple Pencil Pro. The off-white shoe features a mesh body and sole, and exhibits a multicolored speckled mudguard. Apple’s traditional rainbow color palette adorns the Swoosh, with a gum sole to match.

The Swoosh and the lines on the heel pay creative homage to the Apple Pencil Pro, accompanied by the handwritten words “Made on iPad.” No matter how gaga the world goes over the shoes, or the endless possibilities with the latest iPad products, only the latter will be accessible to excited fans. The special sneakers, much like Cinderella’s glass slipper, will only be seen on Tim Cook’s feet and will not be available for public purchase.
