Samsung quietly rolled out a good looking Burgundy Red color option for the Galaxy S9 and S9+ in China last week, without making any official announcement. Now, the South Korean tech giant has officially introduced the new color alongside another new color called Sunrise Gold. Both the colors utilize unique gloss finishes distinct from the already-available colorways. “People want to be able to express their style and personality through their technology and color is a big part of that personalization,” said Younghee Lee, CMO and Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics. “The new editions extend the color offerings of Galaxy S9 and S9+ with vibrant styles that embrace a modern and classic feel.”
It’s not new for Samsung to launch new colors for its flagship devices as their sales begin to dip. Launched in February 2018, the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ are now available in six different colors including Midnight Black, Titanium Gray, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple. Samsung will only be releasing the Burgundy Red Galaxy S9 and S9+ in South Korea and China starting this month, while the Sunrise Gold variant will be available from June in select markets including Australia, Chile, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.
