Jacob & Co. is a name synonymous with art-like timepieces. These pieces are as elaborate as art and, in some instances, even more expensive. Following their announcement of the Burj Binghatti Jacob & Co. Residences skyscraper in Dubai, they have added another achievement to their portfolio: high-end spirits.
The Jacob & Co. x Alec Monopoly Limited Edition Whisky boasts its status as one of the most exclusive whiskies, with only two thousand decanters available. Such rarity is hard to come by, and when it does, it carries a price tag of $2,500.
The youngest spirit in the blend is 30 years old. Ex-Bowmore Master Blender and Scotch whisky legend Andrew Rankin assembled the finest Scotch whiskies from 1st and 2nd fill ex-Bourbon American Oak barrels. Initially 26 years old, the blend was immediately refilled into new American Oak bourbon barrels. It spent the subsequent four years marrying and aging, making the Jacob & Co. x Alec Monopoly Limited Edition Whisky a 30-year-old blend. The result is a smooth, creamy, peppery, lingering, oaky spirit, enriched with the best materials available — the finest gems and the most elaborate mechanical constructions.
The balance of extremely rare and old Scotch whiskies in this blend epitomizes such quality. The contemporary artist Alec Monopoly, breathes life into this endeavor with the decanter, a unique creation of the NYC-born creator. A long-standing friend of Jacob & Co., Alec makes the bottle eye-catching using graffiti, accentuating it with his signature colors, fonts, and typeface. The first decanter of the Jacob & Co. x Alec Monopoly Limited Edition Whisky will be a special edition, individually and personally painted by Alec Monopoly, and set to be auctioned.
This initiative marks a splendid extension of Jacob & Co.’s identity as a luxury lifestyle brand, with their towering 100-story ‘hypertower’, a diamond-encrusted ‘Billionaire’ credit card, and now this liquid gold.
