Karl Lagerfeld to revamp the Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo

Karl Lagerfeld is on a creative spree. After adding design touches to VIP helicopters and the new Diet Coke bottle, the designer has now taken up the assignment to revamp a hotel in Monaco. The Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo has asked the creative genius to makeover its Belle-Epoque exterior – the pool, the terrace, the gardens, and a new Joel Robuchon restaurant give it a theatrical touch for the summer season. The revamp is expected to comprise a huge fresco, made up of 15 glass panels portraying Ulysses’ journey. The fresco will boast of statuesque models in flowing Grecian robes.

The first installment of the project will be unveiled in July. Lagerfeld’s male muse, Baptiste Giabiconi, is already a part of these frescos. I can’t wait to see this project when it is ready.
