L’Oréal Paris x Karl Lagerfeld capsule makeup collection calls for a fun cocktail bash in Paris

We are self-confessed fans of Karl Lagerfeld. The man’s got it all, talent, sass and if you have been listening carefully to him, a whole lot of gumption. After all, he’s the man who gave us quotes like “What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.” and “One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress.” So when it was announced that the stalwart is joining hands with L’Oréal Paris for a capsule makeup collection we were all ears…and eyes. For now, we know that they have started having a lot of fun as the two brands held a cocktail in Paris on Friday. If Karl were alive, he would’ve approved the black-and-white striped décor, the decor is a given as it was de rigueur for the Lagerfeld brand along with a bubble chair. Attendees could try out the makeup at stations down one floor, where they also could transmit videos of themselves against a stripy background. Big names from the fascinating world of fashion attended the fete and remembered working with Karl and reminisced those days. L’Oréal Paris’ global makeup director Val Garland, who had worked with Lagerfeld, was present. Renowned photographer Chris Colls arrived at the fete with Alexandra Agoston.

Model Luma Grothe reminisced about Lagerfeld with some very resonating words, “He has so many great quotes that are so touching, and really inspiring — that make me want to move — make me want to do something and be myself,” she said. “I think he was an inspiration for that. And he made women feel confident and powerful.” Other guests seen partying the night away were Liya Kebede, Soo Joo Park and Doutzen Kroes.
