The St. Regis Hotels & Resorts brand has collaborated with French silver company Christofle to create a bespoke champagne saber that reflects the spirit and heritage of St. Regis. The sabers have been handcrafted in Christofle’s Haute Orfevrerie workshop in Yainville, Normandy by the brand’s classically trained silversmiths.
“St. Regis has always taken special care to partner with like-minded brands who share our passion and heritage,” said Jim Petrus, Global Brand Leader, St. Regis Hotels & Resorts. “With so many of our hotels around the world sabering champagne for our guests, we are thrilled to collaborate with the team at Christofle to create this truly one-of-a-kind piece for St. Regis, and we look forward continuing this signature ritual to celebrate the St. Regis moments that call for a glass of champagne.”
“We are delighted to partner with St. Regis to create this truly special saber to honor both brand’s diverse and rich histories,” said Nikolas Krafft, CEO, Christofle. “Sabering inspires a convivial and hospitable spirit, a moment when everyone gathers to delight in a glass of champagne, and we are thrilled to be a part of this St. Regis tradition.”
The sleek and intricately designed saber has been inspired by archival images of The St. Regis New York as well as art-deco touches found at St. Regis hotels and resorts around the world. The saber’s sterling silver handle is adorned with the brand’s signature diamond pattern while the three brand hallmarks –references to the first St. Regis hotel on 55th Street & 5th Avenue- are engraved into the saber’s base.
The St. Regis Saber by Christofle will be available for purchase (price on request) and will be a part of milestone events and celebrations at St. Regis hotels and resorts around the world.
