In a city like New York, it’s all about location and the new Park Hyatt New York has definitely bagged that one. Occupying the first 25 floors of the 90-storey One57 skyscraper in Manhattan, the Park Hyatt New York has cast aside all other hotels and become North America’s flagship hotel.
Meticulously dressed by French architect Christian de Portzamparc, this state-of-the-art 210-room hotel is a sight in itself with its 1,005ft-tall ziggurat of dark and light, although the exterior is a contrast to the inner surroundings; namely its soaring ceilings, polished marble floors and tall glass dividers
An impressive collection of 300 artworks compliment the hotel interiors but our favourite space is arguably the sun-drenched three-storey “aerie” on the top floors that houses a heated swimming pool in which underwater speakers play an exclusive soundtrack from Carnegie Hall.
The hotel has outdone itself with its spectacular Palace Terrace Suite. The generously sized 1,106 sq ft suite – and we all know how space is a bit of a crunch in the Big Apple – entails a spacious master bedroom, a chic and stylish living area, a fully-stocked marble bathroom, a powder room and a large outdoor terrace.
The grand one bedroom suite features natural stone flooring and a beautiful residential area rug. An opulent collection of artworks adorn the walls while the large outdoor terrace provides stunning views of glorious Manhattan.
Rivolta Carmignani linens beautify the king bed in the master bedroom and Le Labo products dictate luxury in the bath. Of course, a round-the-clock butler service is at your doorstep.
