Suite of the Week : The ultra-luxe Keliki Valley Tent at Capella Ubud, Bali

The name Capella Ubud often rang a bell in my ears earlier this year. The 22-suite resort already started making headlines as one of the most anticipated hotel openings in 2018, although it opened its doors to the public only in late July. Conceptualized by Bill Bensley, the boutique resort occupies an enviable position nestled between the rainforest, rice paddies and the sacred Wos River in Bali.

Being a member of The Leading Hotels of the World is certainly a matter of pride and accomplishment, and when one visits Capella Ubud you can truly see why; the eclectic selection of dining options, the Auriga spa, and most importantly the beautifully appointed individual tents. Indeed, each tent is a mesmerizing story in itself, but the Keliki Valley Tent is my preferred choice.

The one-bedroom tent embraces you with hand-made teak floors, and specially-commissioned hand-carved Balinese doors. What caught my attention is the interesting contrast between the dark- toned interiors and the vivid furnishings in the tent, although my favourite is the four-poster bed. Nestled in nature, its only fair to have the luxury of an outdoor bathroom and a spacious outdoor deck which entails an oversized daybed and a private salt-water pool.

Staying at the tent has several perks! One can access the Officer’s Tent lounge, cherish the high-quality service of a Capella personal assistant round-the-clock, utilise camp essentials from the duffel bag provided on arrival, the highly-recommended breakfast at Mads Lounge and of course, airport transfers.
