The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company is expanding its portfolio with a beachfront Ritz Carlton resort on the beautiful island of Langkawi, Malaysia which will open its doors to visitors sometime next year. Langkawi is a tropical island, the perfect getaway for those seeking adventure both on land and at sea. Housed among the island’s lush rainforests, the Ritz Carlton Langkawi will boast a private beach and cove allowing visitors to enjoy a view of the sparkling waters of the Andaman Sea. Langkawi is sometimes referred to as the Legendary Island and the Jewel of Kedah and will fittingly offer Ritz patrons a taste of unspoiled natural beauty peppered with plenty of local cultural experiences and activities like diving. So if you’ve already crossed Dubai, Berlin and Hong Kong off your travel bucket list, Langkawi may be the next stop.
The resort is a partnership venture between the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company L.L.C and AJ Resorts SDN BHD and will feature 132-room rooms and 42 villas bearing design elements inspired by traditional kampong villages. Jan Strickland and Singapore based Burega Farnell have been announced as the interior designers for the resort. The resort property will include curated tropical gardens, three swimming pools (one of which will be designed especially with children in mind) as well as a Ritz-Kids club. Restaurants at the Ritz will reflect the culinary diversity of Asia and feature cuisines from Malaysia, China, Thailand and India as well as local Langkawi cuisine. French fine dining options will also be on offer along with an international beach grill. Set out to mark Langkawi as the next rejuvenation destination, the Ritz Carlton Spa will feature signature treatments and relaxation options that include a traditional hammam.
With every facility as well as local experience on offer the Ritz Langkawi seems all set to capture the imagination of luxury travelers and thrill seekers alike.
