Bvlgari returns to bedazzle with the Aeterna collection, featuring 500 exquisite pieces of jewelry and watches. Celebrating its 140th anniversary, Bvlgari hosted a star-studded, gem-studded event in Rome, showcasing the masterful craftsmanship of its artisans. While the evening drew numerous global A-listers, it was the Aeterna collection that truly stole the spotlight.
Aeterna captures the essence of the Eternal City in a unique and breathtaking collection adorned with magnificent gems. This diverse array of masterpieces embodies the eclectic creativity and aesthetic codes of the Roman High Jeweller. The ‘Ode to Eternity’ necklace, the pièce de résistance of the collection, boasts seven D flawless diamond drops totaling an impressive 140 carats—one for each year of Bulgari’s history. Cut from the same rough stone, these diamonds are juxtaposed with a diamond-set Serpenti, creating an intriguing and unmatched allure.
The Bulgari Lotus Cabochon necklace compensates for the lack of color in the ‘Ode to Eternity’ with a vibrant array of gems, featuring Bvlgari’s signature smooth cabochon cut. The Aeterna high-jewelry watches forsake the Serpenti motif for exuberant, larger-than-life designs, bursting with colors and an assortment of precious and colored gemstones. The metals range from pink and white gold to titanium and platinum, housing the Piccolissimo mechanical micro round movement.
The Fenice High-Jewelry Watch, the result of 3,000 hours of meticulous work, features 160 carats of blue, pink, and purple sapphires, amethysts, rubies, pink garnets, tanzanites, iolites, aquamarines, and diamonds. This secret watch reveals an exceptionally rare 9.78-carat Paraiba tourmaline at its center, concealing the watch dial. Each gemstone is carefully selected and set by hand, a testament to Bulgari’s unwavering commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
Inspired by the legendary phoenix, the Fenice watch is adorned with spikes symbolizing the resurrection of the mythical bird. This glorious timepiece draws inspiration from Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s altarpiece at the Roman church of Santa Maria della Vittoria, blending historical artistry with contemporary luxury.
