Brabus has taken the humble electric commuter and dressed it like a fashion editor’s fantasy, all sculpted leather, exposed carbon, and sly bravado, proving that even a city bike with a 75-mph ceiling can still arrive with presence.

There was a time when Brabus built its reputation on turning already fast Mercedes machines into absurd, tire-shredding statements of excess. That identity still exists, but it is now being carefully stretched into something quieter, sharper, and arguably more relevant. The German tuner has partnered with DAB Motors to create a new line of electric motorcycles that trade V8 thunder for instant torque and urban intent.

The collaboration is not a ground-up reinvention. Instead, it is a calculated blend of French engineering and German theatrics, all built on DAB’s lightweight 1α platform. That foundation brings with it a compact 7.1 kWh battery, a usable urban range of roughly 150 kilometers (roughly 93 miles), and a top speed capped at 120 km/h (about 75 mph). On paper, the numbers read modest, but electric torque changes the narrative. Even the base bike delivers a punchy 31 horsepower with immediate response, while the more aggressive Urban E variant pushes output further and leans heavily into software tuning and drivetrain refinement to sharpen acceleration.

What Brabus really contributes is character. The design language is unmistakable, with exposed carbon fiber, aggressive surfacing, and high-contrast finishes that feel more at home on a supercar than a city commuter. The Urban E introduces signature red accents and a sculpted leather seat that turns a functional machine into something closer to a statement piece. There is even a riding mode labeled Nitrous, which feels deliberately tongue in cheek in an electric context but aligns perfectly with the brand’s long-standing flair for drama.

The lineup itself is structured with intent. The entry-level DAB 1α Brabus, priced at €16,590 (almost $20,000), acts as the gateway, retaining the core performance while adding visual precision and material upgrades. The Urban E sits at the center as the most complete expression of the concept, pairing increased power with a more assertive design and a richer feature set, and is priced at €20,800 (about $25,000). At the very top sits the Urban E First Edition, a tightly controlled run of collector-focused machines offered in bold, almost theatrical colorways such as Fusion Red and Superviolet, each limited to just ten units worldwide. It carries a price tag of €32,500 (about $38,000)

Beneath the styling, the hardware remains serious. Brembo braking systems, adjustable suspension components, and a lightweight chassis ensure that the experience is not purely aesthetic. This is not a decorative exercise. It is a functional electric motorcycle that has been elevated, polished, and positioned to appeal to a very specific buyer who values design as much as performance.

What emerges from this partnership is less about disrupting the electric motorcycle space and more about reframing it. Brabus is not trying to out-engineer the competition. It is attempting to redefine what an urban electric bike can represent. In doing so, it has turned a compact commuter into a luxury object, one that carries the same sense of occasion as its automotive counterparts, just without the noise.
