I’m sure you won’t be surprised if I say that it that the basic ownership and maintenance cost for a Bugatti Chiron is insane, right? Back in 2021, a Facebook post went viral that claimed owners of the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport will end up spending nearly $500,000 servicing and maintaining the car every four years. While the jaw-dropping figure seemed believable considering the limited edition hypercar costs $3.96 million, it wasn’t really true. A YouTube channel by the name of The Hamilton Collection gave a more realistic breakdown of how much it would cost to own a Bugatti Chiron for a decade in one of its new videos. Although it’s not cheap, the ownership cost of a $3-plus million hypercar is not as outlandish as some of the previous estimates made us believe.

The Bugatti Chiron comes with four years of free maintenance services from the factory. So, for the first four years, you don’t have to worry about anything except for consumables. But beyond that things start to add up pretty quickly. The video claims that Chiron’s annual service costs $11,500, which includes things like oil and oil filter change, key fob battery replacement, and brake fluid change.

However, the first big service comes right after the hypercar completes four years of ownership and it costs a whopping $34,000. This big overhaul is only required once in a decade and includes front and rear axle oil changes, new longitudinal lock oil, a gearbox oil and filter change, a fresh engine air filter, a drive belt change, spark plugs, hydraulic oil and filter change, and new coolant. Finally, Bugatti also recommends changing the tires every five years, which costs $8,450. Once you add all these figures, the basic maintenance costs for a Bugatti Chiron over a period of 10 years comes to around $100,000, which is not shockingly bad. The video also talks about how much money it takes for the replacement of things like the keys, brake rotors, and even the powertrain, and those figures are truly scary.
