A Ferrari F430 was destroyed in a fire during a fuel stop in Tennessee on Thursday evening, burning down a section of the fuel station. According to the local fire department, the fuel pumps had to be shut down, and the roadway was closed while the firefighters extinguished the blaze. The owner had pulled up with his mid-engine Ferrari to the pumps at the Citgo/Hill Top Market in Signal Mountain shortly before 6 pm for a routine fuel stop. The F430 suddenly caught fire while being refueled for reasons still not clear.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident, and the fire was quickly controlled. However, the Italian exotic was completely engulfed in flames when the fire department arrived at the scene. Everything behind the Ferrari’s A-pillar was completely destroyed in the fire, along with damage to the fuel pump and canopy above.

The exact reason for the fire is yet to be determined, but some members of the Ferrari community, FerrariChat, have been voicing their concern over possible fire risks with the F430, as pointed out by Road & Track. Furthermore, Ferrari issued a recall in 2009 for close to 2000 F430 Spiders manufactured between 2005 and 2007.

They were recalled due to faulty hydraulic hoses prone to rupture from the engine’s heat and leak fluid, possibly leading to a fire. However, the one that was destroyed last week was a coupe. Maybe the aging component of the Ferrari is to be blamed for the fire; we can only speculate.
