LVMH may get its first black female designer, and its none other than Rihanna

Rihanna’s latest venture has us so thrilled! The singer may be brought on board to spearhead a new fashion brand under the LVMH banner. Since Christian Lacroix in 1987, the parent brand LVMH has not signed on any other brands. We would soon know this brand as Fenty – her last name for those who are unaware. Rihanna’s make-up and lingerie ventures have also been marketed under Fenty.

Interesting, LVMH has been quite inclined towards bringing Rihanna on board for quite some time now. In 2017, LVMH roped in Rihanna to collaborate with her on a make-up line, Fenty Beauty. Bagging the title as one of Time Magazine’s 25 best inventions that year, the brand raked in almost $100 m in sales.

May 2017 saw her lingerie line, Savage x Fenty, which once again was a rather big success. Paying tribute to culturally-different women, both the makeup and lingerie businesses were highly appreciated as they catered to a diversified audience. The TechStyle Fashion Group-backed brand includes sizes ranging from XS to 3XL and features plus-size models in its campaigns.

“I accept all of the bodies,” Rihanna told US Vogue last year. “I’m not built like Victoria’s Secret girl, and I still feel very beautiful and confident in my lingerie.”
