Mark Zuckerberg rushed his support vessel, Wingman, with 20 specialized crew members onboard on a 4,200-mile journey from California to Tahiti. The vessel, that has an onboard hospital is now assisting the Meta CEO’s $300 million superyacht in scouting the best surfing and diving spots

To truly grasp the influence of a centibillionaire, one must delve into the lifestyle of Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg. It’s a statement that might have seemed implausible a year ago, but much has changed since then, including Zuckerberg himself. The world’s fourth-richest man, worth $191 billion, now owns not one but two superyachts, the $300 million Launchpad and the $30 million support vessel Wingman. Rather than letting these impressive vessels sit idle, the tech mogul is making full use of his assets, orchestrating a 4,800-mile journey from San Francisco to Tahiti.

Superyacht Launchpad has already reached the stunning azure waters of French Polynesia after an extensive 12-day voyage. According to Marine Traffic, the support vessel Wingman has joined its mothership, bringing along the gear the 40-year-old needs for his surfing adventures and is equally prepared for some action. Together, the two vessels, worth nearly $350 million, are cruising the pristine locale, likely scouting for ideal diving and surfing spots for Mark and Priscilla.

The 220-foot Wingman, formerly known as Dapple, is a custom Damen Yachting Support vessel created for scuba diving enthusiasts. Designed by Mark Berryman, it can host six guests in three cabins and has space for 20 crew across 13 cabins.

While primarily a support vessel, it’s capable of operating as a standalone explorer vessel. Built for venturing into remote waters, it’s equipped with a hospital, a dive center, and a decompression chamber to ensure safety during its explorations.

Packed with advanced technology and a layout that screams military precision, Wingman is prepped for helicopter and submarine operations, with a 360-degree bridge offering incredible visibility. The tender garage is large enough to carry extra toys and diving gear, while the fully equipped gym is a perfect nod to Zuckerberg’s fitness-focused lifestyle.

Wingman is powered by four MTU engines that give it a cruising speed of 15 knots and a top speed of 22 knots. It can cover an impressive range of 8,700 nautical miles at 13.5 knots. Whether supporting Launchpad or heading out alone, it’s clear Zuckerberg’s seafaring pursuits are as ambitious as his career.

Mark Zuckerberg has a knack for surfing.
