Porsche’s $2,000 Passport subscription service is the Netflix of sports cars


If you’re having a hard time choosing the right Porsche model and deciding on which variant will suit you the best, fret not! The Porsche buffet is now open to you for a monthly fee of as little as $2000 – but, that’s only if you live in Atlanta. The German carmaker is launching a program called Porsche Passport, a subscription-based service that gives you “frequent” vehicle swaps, unlimited mileage and coverage for the essentials that include insurance, registration, taxes, and even maintenance. It’s basically on-demand Porsche ownership.

A pilot program of the service will kick off in Atlanta, Georgia in November and it will be available in two tiers, “Launch” and “Accelerate.” Launch is the more wallet-friendly option starting at $2,000 a month. At that price, you’ll get on-demand access to eight variants of Porsche 718 Boxster, Cayman S, Macan S and Cayenne. At $3,000 per month, Accelerate offers a choice of 22 variants including the four models from Launch, as well as the 911 and the Panamera. It addition to the monthly subscription costs, a one-time activation fee of $500 will also be charged. Membership will also be conditional based on a background and credit check. According to Porsche Cars North America CEO Klaus Zellmer, “Our Strategy 2025 vision is to be the most aspirational brand in a new era of mobility and consumer expectations. Catering to customers’ desire to experience our sports cars in new ways is a part of our core strategy.”
