Rolls-Royce has revealed its most powerful production car ever – the Black Badge Spectre. This electric evolution of the brand’s performance line delivers an impressive 659 horsepower and 792 lb-ft of torque, cementing its position as the most potent Rolls-Royce in the company’s storied history.
Unlike previous Black Badge models that featured the brand’s signature 6.75-liter V12 engine, the Spectre Black Badge maintains its all-electric powertrain but with significant enhancements. The dual-motor setup delivers an 82 horsepower and 128 lb-ft increase over the standard Spectre. This allows the luxury coupe to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 4.1 seconds when using the new “Spirited Mode,” essentially a launch control system.
Rolls-Royce engineers have focused on maintaining the brand’s legendary “Magic Carpet Ride” while improving dynamics. The Black Badge Spectre features recalibrated dampers to reduce body squat during hard acceleration and braking, increased steering weight for improved feedback, and enhanced roll stabilization for better body control.
The Black Badge Spectre makes a bold visual statement with several exclusive design elements, including a striking new “Vapor Violet” paint inspired by 1980s and 1990s club culture, an optional “Iced Black” hood for dramatic contrast, and new 23-inch five-spoke forged aluminum wheels. The illuminated grille can be customized with various backing colors.
Inside, the cabin elevates Rolls-Royce’s already exceptional interior craftsmanship with over 5,500 fiber optic “stars” embedded in the Piano Black dashboard, carbon fiber and metal trim combinations, and five customizable digital instrument cluster themes.
The increased performance does come with a slight reduction in range. When equipped with 22-inch wheels, the Black Badge Spectre can travel 266 miles on a single charge, compared to 277 miles for the standard model. With the optional 23-inch wheels, range decreases to 251 miles.
With a starting price of $490,000, the Black Badge Spectre commands a $67,250 premium over the standard model. This positions it firmly in the ultra-luxury segment, targeting discerning clients who demand both the traditional Rolls-Royce experience and cutting-edge performance.
The Black Badge Spectre represents Rolls-Royce’s commitment to preserving its performance heritage while embracing electrification. By creating the most powerful production model in its history without a V12 engine, Rolls-Royce demonstrates that luxury and performance can coexist in the electric era.
