Marrying style with sustainability, Rossinavi’s electric catamaran concept, designed by Yves Béhar, is making waves. The Italian shipyard unveiled Solsea, a $42 million masterpiece, at this year’s Design Miami/, impressing with its eco-conscious innovation. This wide-bodied electric catamaran boasts an open floor plan that maximizes space and elegance. Its standout feature is its silent cruising capability, but the 120-footer also dazzles with luxurious details designed to delight its owners.

Constructed with sustainable materials like durable cork flooring from Amorim and Béhar’s signature 100% ocean plastic applications, Solsea reinforces its commitment to eco-friendly yachting. Solar panels, seamlessly integrated into shading structures, enhance renewable energy efficiency while maintaining a sleek aesthetic. As Béhar notes, “Solsea is a return to simpler, more respectful ways to enjoy the oceans while integrating the future of efficient propulsion and cutting-edge technologies.”

The catamaran truly lives up to its reputation as being “greener than the grass on your lawn.” Solar energy powers its operations, with the owner’s cabin offering panoramic 180-degree views and a private balcony, while the main deck features a lounge pool and the rear sundeck hosts a bar with ample seating.

Béhar further explained, “I was always interested in a new type of customer or owner for boats, because it felt to me like a lot were built just to drink cocktails on, but not so much for an active lifestyle.”

The two-deck Solsea seamlessly combines performance with beauty. Its advanced battery and solar panel system is integrated into the superstructure, with solar panels doubling as shading structures. Designed for active owners passionate about ocean exploration and water sports, Solsea can operate 100% on electric power for day trips, 90% for multi-day journeys, and cross the Atlantic 80% of the time in electric mode. After just five hours of charging on shore power, Solsea is ready to conquer the seas.

Notably, when in hibernation mode, the energy collected through its solar panels can be returned to the grid or used to power private properties, enough to charge an entire villa.
