Uber will let you book a lavish ride in a horse-drawn carriage to celebrate King Charles’s coronation

There are only a few days left until the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty The Queen Consort on 6 May. The eyes of the whole world will be on Westminster Abbey as the Royal Family joins foreign monarchs and world leaders to witness the historic event. Uber has announced a one-of-a-kind experience for the Royal fans in London that’ll help them celebrate the occasion in a grand fashion. The ride-share giant is rolling out a “Coronation Carriage” that will be available for trips around London’s Dulwich Park between 1 pm and 4 pm on May 3, 4, and 5.

Uber says the carefully designed coach “closely resembles the carriage the king himself will ride.” Described as “beautifully ornate,” the horse-drawn carriage is inspired by previous royal carriages and is decorated with statuettes that mirror those on the original coaches.

On the inside, the coach is fitted with plush seats, embroidered cushions, and throws, allowing users to experience the pomp and pageantry associated with the Royal family and get into the coronation spirit.

The Coronation Carriage will be drawn by four white horses, each dressed up in special Coronation outfits to match the special coach. Uber has said that it will make a donation to a UK charity called Spana that supports the welfare of working animals. “We’re always looking for new ways to add a little Uber magic to peoples journeys, so we are over the moon to be able to bring the Coronation Carriage to Uber,” Uber UK general manager Andrew Brem said in a statement provided to Travel + Leisure. To book the ride, you’ll have to visit the Carriage Drive entrance of Dulwich Park where the dedicated concierge will book your trip through the app. Only a limited number of rides will be available for all three days.
