When it comes to luxury trains, no one can beat Japan. Even by Japanese standards, the Spacia X express train is a class apart, journeying from Tokyo to Nikko. While the journey is dotted with captivating picturesque forests and landscapes, it is the interiors that are one’s reason to return. Interestingly, owing to the white six-car train’s six distinct seating choices, it will always feel like a different trip. The best of the lot is the ‘Cockpit Suite,’ designed to be a moving suite room. The 11 square meter space comfortably accommodates seven passengers. It is the largest on any limited express operated by a private railway and is heavily inspired by the cabin of a private jet.
Car 6 of this train, which operates on 100% renewable energy, is dedicated to the Cockpit Suite, easy on the eyes with a subtle color palette. It is the most luxurious part of the train, and the highest class of seating in Spacia X. The beige and brown interior comprises spacious U-shaped sofa seating and fold-away tables.
The large windows allow generous nature views, adding the much-needed dash of colors with panoramic vistas. It should be noted that the sofas are movable, so if you and your friends want to line up the chairs in a row to make the most of the alleys, lakes, and waterfalls, it is a possibility. For intimate conversations, you can circle around the table on this breathtaking journey.
The Spacia X, which made its debut last summer, includes a café for enjoying premium drinks and snacks during the journey. It runs a carbon-neutral operation and aims to make Nikko an “international eco-resort” where history, culture, and tradition are in harmony with nature.
