What do you want to be when you grow up? If, by chance, it’s a ‘Coral Reef Gardener,’ then we have the perfect opportunity for you. In doing its bit for the environment, the Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu Resort in the Maldives is in search of a marine enthusiast to take up the position and, in turn, help them reverse environmental harm. The chosen one will get to work alongside the in-house marine educator at Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu Resort and help in caring for and restoring local reefs. He or she will further be responsible for planting new corals identifying fish within the reefs and working with regeneration programs on neighboring islands.
Commenting on it, Rosalie Bailie, Marine Educator at Coco Collection, said, “The Maldives faces increasing environmental and social challenges as its popularity grows, and we all have a part to play in ensuring that the beautiful but fragile ecosystems remain intact.”
She added, “We know we have a duty to protect this unique ecosystem for the immediate and future generations. We hope our new intern will reflect this ethos, and we are looking forward to receiving applications for this fantastic opportunity to come join the team and continue their eco mission.”
While there is no stipulated pay for the role, the position will include – roundtrip flights to the Maldives, roundtrip seaplane transfers to Coco Palm Dhuni Kolhu, three weeks of accommodation in a deluxe beach villa including breakfast, lunch, & dinner, and a sunset cruise and spa treatment.
The above inclusions are complimentary, and the intern will be recruited for three weeks, based on a 500-word cover letter and a 2–3-minute video explaining why they should be chosen for the role. Those interested can send in applications at cococollection.com before May 12, 2022.
