The Balearic Islands are also a major center for Spain’s charter market, registering 321 recreational boats intended for rental in 2025, nearly a quarter of the country’s 1,418 registrations. That figure does not represent superyachts or party boats specifically, but it shows how important the islands have become to the high-end nautical business. Inside Ibiza’s floating party
The impressive yacht lineup was not simply a random meeting of wealthy owners who happened to choose the same stretch of coastline. Reports indicate that a similar event featured 19 boats and more than 200 people in 2023, while the number reached about 22 yachts in 2024 and reportedly 24 boats at Es Jondal in 2025.

Cala Jondal provides almost everything an event like this needs, which helps explain its popularity among yacht owners and charter guests. The bay is partially protected by surrounding cliffs and is already one of Ibiza’s best-known yacht destinations. Several high-end beach clubs, including Blue Marlin, Jondal and Tropicana, sit nearby, allowing guests to move between the yachts and the shore without bringing the entire fleet into a marina. Tenders and smaller boats can ferry people back and forth, while the yachts remain anchored offshore.
