Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower, standing at 829.8m with a staggering 163 floors, has been in the news for several reasons other than its grandeur. Rihanna recently launched her much-awaited skincare range – Fenty Skin from the sides of the iconic Emirati structure. A social media influencer couple also used the towering structure for a gender reveal project, where they revealed their baby’s gender onto the Burj Khalifa. If you want the world to notice, post it on Burj Khalifa, and that’s just what Emirates Airlines did. The airline shared a video celebrating the development that the UAE has been taken off the UK’s red list and upgraded to amber as travel rules change.
They felt on top of the world, and they personified this feeling of exhilaration by putting their fearless ‘airline stewardess’ on top of the world’s tallest building, with a smile on her face (unbelievable) and a placard in her hand that read, “Moving the UAE to the UK amber list has made us feel on top of the world.” The crew member standing at the very top of Burj Khalifa is no other than skydiver and social media star Nicole Smith-Ludvik (that explains the smile at 2,722ft). This is, in fact, great news not only for holidays and vacations but also because separated families and partners can finally unite.
Netizens actually thought it was a fake so Emirates released a BTS video.
Making it to the amber list entails that fully-vaccinated travelers can return from the Emirates without needing to quarantine. All they need to do is take a pre-departure Covid test and a further test on or before their second day in the country. It is truly a joyous moment that reassures the world that normalcy will return, and soon. Emirates Airlines, the flag carrier of the UAE, shared the promotional stunt video today, saying: ‘Reconnect with your loved ones or take a fabulous vacation. From 8th August, travel to the UK gets easier.’ Ms. Smith-Ludvik, also shared a similar sentiment on Instagram: ‘This is, without a doubt, one of the most amazing and exciting stunts I’ve ever done. A big shout out to Emirates Airlines for your creative marketing idea! It was a pleasure being a part of the team!’
