Jaeger-LeCoultre invites its VIP collectors to Le Chalet, a 19th-century farmhouse perched 1,360 meters above the Vallée de Joux, where restored stables, a smoking thuyé hearth and a farm-fresh kitchen let time stop between tick and tock.

Jaeger-LeCoultre has mastered the art of telling time for nearly 200 years, but with Le Chalet, nestled within Switzerland’s idyllic Vallée de Joux, the maison has also mastered the art of making time stand still. For fortunate guests and clients, the 19th-century Swiss alpine farm building, nestled at 1,360 meters on Mont Tendre, takes one into a bygone era.

Beautifully restored for the watch collectors of today by Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, this venue isn’t just one providing respite, history, and culture, but connects visitors to the brand as it is located just minutes from Jaeger-LeCoultre’s headquarters in Le Sentier.

While Le Chalet is every inch stunning from the inside, one has to first appreciate the idyllic setting, surrounded by pristine forests and untouched meadows. In such tranquility, one can hear the timepieces tick and hearts beat.

The abode may once have been the property of a farmer from the valley, but today it accommodates the most discerning of horophiles in fittingly luxurious fashion. What charms the heart, admittedly, are the stable, barn, and cheese-production area that have been carefully cleaned and restored. To pay homage to the history of the home, the thuyé, the traditional pyramid-shaped chimney above the heated cauldron, has been beautifully preserved.

The chalet’s old milk room now functions as the kitchen, which comes to life with traditional recipes and seasonal ingredients from the valley. The opportunity to experience Le Chalet is reserved exclusively for visitors invited by Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre.
