Hublot has a tradition of honoring impeccable athletes and sports teams by creating exquisite timepieces as a tribute of their efforts. Staying true to this tradition, Hublot is teaming up with the World Boxing Council to create 12 unique timepieces made of 18K King Gold, black ceramic, and titanium with a powerful 48 mm diameter that mimic the look of the iconic championship belt that was awarded to 12 of the biggest legends who have shined in the ring. Paying tribute to the likes of Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Lennox Lewis, Jeff Fenech, Larry Holmes, Ken Norton, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran, Azumah Nelson, Julio Cesar Chavez, Oscar De La Hoya, and George Foreman, the exclusive timepieces will be auctioned by Bonhams on September 29th, 2012 at the Bellagio Hotel proceeds of which will go into the Pension Fund created by WBC that supports retired boxers across almost 40 countries worldwide.
The timepieces also flaunt boxing features like a 3 mins special counter and the World Boxing symbol on the back case with each of the fighters’ names. It comes fitted with a strap in Porosus Hornback green alligator and a spare black rubber strap.
“For fans of Boxing and Hublot alike, this is a One-Time opportunity to attend an extraordinary evening with the legends of boxing themselves and/or to acquire a highly exclusive “Knockout” King Power WBC model,” says Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot. This Knockout King Power WBC model is truly a timepiece that you would like to get your hands on, considering these fighters’ legends.
Update –
